I graduated from South Stokes in 1989. While in high school I was a member of the band, numerous clubs, and helped with the wrestling program. I truly enjoyed my time at South Stokes as a student and feel very fortunate to now serve as a part of the administrative team at my alma mater.
I received my bachelor's degree from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree in counseling from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I also completed a post-master's certificate in advanced school counseling and school administration at UNCG. In May 2016, I earned a Specialist in Education degree from UNCG. After serving as a school counselor at King Elementary for nine years, I returned home to South Stokes as a counselor in 2004 before moving into the role of assistant principal in 2014. I was the principal at Walnut Cove Elementary before returning to South in July 2016. I truly believe that learning never ends. I am thankful for the educational foundation Stokes County Schools provided me and I continue to actively seek opportunities to learn and grow both personally and professionally. I know firsthand how great South's students, parents, staff, and community are and am a proud member of the Saura Family. Together we can provide the children of our community the opportunities and experiences they need to become the leaders of tomorrow. |
